Hat Roundup: A Few of my favourite Hats, Fedoras, Straws, and more…
I love hats. Yep, I do. When I mentioned recently in an Instagram post that I shipped 6 boxes of hats from the US to Europe in our pallet, I was not exaggerating. And believe it or not, that’s after I gave away and sold about 40-50 hats. So 6 boxes are what remained after my massive hat purge! I’ve been pretty open about my recovering hoarding tendencies when it comes to fashion, so this may or may not come as a surprise. I’m not sure what it is, and why I love them so much, aside from functionality, because let’s face it, I am 40 now, and sun on this face these days is no bueno:) But, for the past 10+ years, a hat has become one of my most beloved accessories, and I hardly leave home without one.
In the spirit of head wear, I thought I’d do a little round-up of my faves.
My go-to designers include: Janessa Leone, Lack of Color, Lovelybird, Brixton, and I just discovered Freya (which are linked below). Janessa being the higher of price-points, while Lack of Color and Brixton are great because they won’t break the bank.
In 2021, I designed and hand-made a Collection of hats in collaboration with my Jewelry line, Turquoise + Tobacco and my friend’s hat line, Lovelybird.
TURQUOISE+TOBACCO x LOVELYBIRD
The Collection was sold exclusively at Free People, Anthropologie, and Sundance Catalogue.
Below are a few of the pieces from the Collection I designed and hand-made.
Who knows, maybe one day I’ll do my own hat line.
