BLANCO BATHROOM - PT. 2

Okay, so remember me telling you that our plumbing kept leaking? Well, in addition to remodeling the bathroom, we purchased a new Washer & Dryer and Dishwasher. However, every time our guy would tell me they’re good to go, I would run a load, only to find a flooded kitchen and flooded laundry room. This happened about 5 separate times. Or in the bathroom, brown water running down behind our newly mounted vanity and newly painted white walls. It was kind of a nightmare. Luckily though, my fiancé owns a restaurant and has a really good plumber who came over, assessed the damage and gave us a really good quote. However, his diagnosis was completely new plumbing for the whole house. While the thought of all the work and holes we would have to cut in the wall was rather daunting, knowing that we would no longer have rusty pipes, unsafe water, and floods, it was worth it.

And remember me telling you how the bathroom guy would just mount stuff without asking? Well he mounted all of the shower fixtures back in their existing places, so our shower head was remounted where it was originally was, which was for a 4 foot tall person. And I wanted to save the original shower knobs because I thought they were beautiful, but when Coyote took his first bath in the new tub, we found out they were like 100 degrees to the touch! And when our plumber came and looked at everything, he informed us they were not up to code. So since we were ripping everything open anyway, we took out the old hardware, and the shower head and had everything was either moved or replaced. So our brand new shower tile got ripped open and holes were cut in several walls, all during our first Christmas in our new house.

By Christmas day though, we had all the holes patched up, our shower head was moved up, new Kohler Brass hardware was installed in the shower and everything was re-tiled, patched and painted:)
